Androrangers Technologies LLC — ScanMe – QR Code Scanner

Effective Date: July 25, 2026

Last Updated: July 25, 2026

Androrangers Technologies LLC (“Androrangers,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the ScanMe – QR Code Scanner mobile application (“ScanMe” or the “App”).

This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, processed, collected, used, stored, and shared when you use the App.

It covers the Android application. For the ScanMe Online website at scanmeonline.com, including the cookies, browser storage, analytics, and advertising it uses, see the Cookie and Advertising Disclosure.

1. About ScanMe

ScanMe allows users to:

  • Scan QR codes and barcodes using the device camera.
  • Scan codes from images selected from the device.
  • Create QR codes and barcodes.
  • Customize generated codes with colors, styles, logos, and background images.
  • Save generated codes and scan history.
  • Export or share generated codes.
  • Open supported content, including websites, telephone numbers, email addresses, SMS messages, Wi-Fi information, contact information, and other encoded data.

The App does not require users to create an account for its main scanning and code-generation features.

2. Information Processed by the App

Camera Access

The App requests camera permission to scan QR codes and barcodes.

Camera frames are processed to detect and decode supported codes. Camera images are not intentionally uploaded to servers operated by Androrangers Technologies LLC.

The App does not use camera access for facial recognition or identity verification.

You may disable camera access through your device settings, but camera-based scanning will no longer work.

Scanned QR Code and Barcode Content

The App processes the information contained in QR codes and barcodes that you scan.

This content may include:

  • Website links
  • Plain text
  • Product numbers
  • Telephone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • SMS content
  • Contact-card information
  • Wi-Fi network names and passwords
  • Geographic coordinates
  • Calendar information
  • Other information encoded in a QR code or barcode

Scanned content is processed locally on your device.

The App may save scanned content in a local scan-history database on your device. Androrangers Technologies LLC does not intentionally upload scanned code content to its own servers.

Generated QR Code and Barcode Content

When you create a QR code or barcode, the App processes the information you enter.

Generated content may include:

  • Text
  • Website links
  • Telephone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • SMS messages
  • Wi-Fi credentials
  • Contact information
  • Geographic coordinates
  • Calendar information
  • Product or barcode values

Generated content is processed locally on your device.

The App does not intentionally transmit the content you enter into generated QR codes or barcodes to servers operated by Androrangers Technologies LLC.

You should not place highly sensitive information inside a QR code unless you understand that anyone who obtains the code may be able to read its contents.

Images, Logos, and Backgrounds

The App may allow you to select a logo, background, or image from your device to customize or scan a code.

To do this, the App requests access to photos and media on your device. Access is used only to read the file you select. The App does not browse or index your photo library.

Selected images may be copied into the App’s private local storage and processed on your device.

The App does not intentionally upload selected logos, backgrounds, or scanned images to servers operated by Androrangers Technologies LLC.

Scan History and Local Storage

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

  • Scan history
  • Generated-code history
  • Saved templates
  • Favorite codes
  • App preferences
  • Selected logos
  • Selected backgrounds
  • Scanned images
  • Export settings

You may delete individual history records through the App where deletion controls are available.

You may also remove locally stored App data by clearing the App’s storage through Android settings or uninstalling the App.

Some associated image files may remain temporarily in local App storage until deleted by the App, removed through device storage controls, or removed when the App is uninstalled.

3. Information Collected by Third-Party Services

Although QR code and barcode content is generally processed locally, the App uses third-party software development kits that may collect or process technical and usage information.

These services may collect information such as:

  • IP address
  • Advertising identifier
  • App instance identifier
  • Device or installation identifier
  • Device model
  • Operating-system version
  • App version
  • Language and regional settings
  • Approximate location derived from IP address
  • App interactions
  • Screen views
  • Feature usage
  • Advertising views and clicks
  • Session information
  • Crash logs
  • Stack traces
  • Diagnostics
  • Performance information
  • Network information
  • Fraud-prevention information

The App does not intentionally send raw scanned QR code content, barcode content, Wi-Fi passwords, contact-card content, SMS content, or user-entered QR payloads to analytics or advertising services.

4. Firebase Analytics

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App.

Firebase Analytics may process information such as:

  • App launches
  • Screen views
  • Session activity
  • Feature interactions
  • Code type selected
  • Export actions
  • Template actions
  • General scan or generation categories
  • Device and App information
  • App instance identifiers
  • Approximate regional information

We use this information to:

  • Understand which features are used.
  • Improve the App’s design and usability.
  • Identify underused or problematic features.
  • Measure App performance and engagement.

Analytics events are intended to describe general actions or categories. We do not intentionally include the actual content of scanned or generated QR codes in analytics events.

5. Firebase Crashlytics

The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes and technical problems.

Crashlytics may process:

  • Crash logs
  • Stack traces
  • Device model
  • Operating-system version
  • App version
  • Installation identifiers
  • App state
  • Memory information
  • Performance diagnostics
  • Analytics breadcrumb events associated with a crash

We use crash information to:

  • Investigate errors.
  • Improve App stability.
  • Fix compatibility problems.
  • Reduce crashes and technical failures.

We do not intentionally include raw QR code or barcode content in Crashlytics logs, custom keys, or error reports.

6. Advertising

The App displays advertisements using Google AdMob.

Advertising formats may include:

  • Banner advertisements
  • Interstitial advertisements
  • Native advertisements
  • Rewarded advertisements
  • App-open advertisements

Google AdMob and its advertising partners may process information such as:

  • Advertising identifiers
  • Device identifiers
  • IP addresses
  • Approximate location
  • Ad views
  • Ad clicks
  • App interactions
  • Device information
  • Diagnostics
  • Network information
  • Fraud and invalid-traffic signals

This information may be used to:

  • Display advertisements.
  • Measure advertisement performance.
  • Limit repeated advertisements.
  • Prevent fraud and invalid traffic.
  • Provide personalized advertising where permitted.
  • Provide contextual or non-personalized advertising.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

You may be able to reset or delete your device advertising identifier through Android privacy settings.

Disabling personalized advertising does not necessarily remove advertisements. It may result in non-personalized or contextual advertisements.

7. Consent Management

The App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request and manage advertising consent where required.

Depending on your region, you may be shown a consent form that allows you to:

  • Consent to personalized advertising.
  • Choose non-personalized advertising.
  • Manage advertising partners.
  • Review privacy choices.
  • Withdraw or modify consent.

Where required, advertising requests should be made only after the App has received the necessary consent status or determined that consent is not required.

A privacy-options control may be made available inside the App where required by applicable law or Google advertising policies.

8. Meta Audience Network

The App may use Meta Audience Network through Google AdMob mediation.

When Meta Audience Network is enabled as an advertising source, Meta may process:

  • Advertising identifiers
  • Device identifiers
  • IP addresses
  • App interaction information
  • Advertising interaction information
  • Device and operating-system information
  • Approximate location
  • Diagnostics and fraud-prevention information

Meta processes this information according to its own privacy policies and contractual terms.

The availability and activation of individual advertising partners may change based on advertising configuration, user region, consent status, and mediation settings.

9. Google ML Kit Barcode Scanning

The App uses Google ML Kit to detect and decode QR codes and barcodes.

Barcode and QR code image processing is generally performed on the device.

ML Kit may process limited technical information such as:

  • Device information
  • Application information
  • Installation identifiers
  • SDK usage information
  • Diagnostics
  • Performance information

When certain scanning features, such as auto-zoom, are enabled, ML Kit may also process scanning-session information, zoom-related information, or predicted code-position information.

We do not intentionally send the actual decoded QR code or barcode content to Google through ML Kit.

10. How Information Is Used

Information processed by the App or third-party services may be used to:

  • Operate QR code and barcode scanning.
  • Create and customize QR codes and barcodes.
  • Store history and settings locally.

No application, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. QR Code Safety

QR codes may direct users to third-party websites, applications, telephone numbers, payment pages, or other external content.

Androrangers Technologies LLC does not control or endorse content simply because it can be scanned using the App.

Before opening a scanned link:

  • Review the destination carefully.
  • Avoid unknown or suspicious websites.
  • Do not enter passwords or payment information unless you trust the destination.
  • Be cautious of QR codes requesting urgent payments or personal information.
  • Confirm shortened or unfamiliar links before opening them.

Third-party websites and services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

15. Children’s Privacy

ScanMe is a general-audience utility application and is not specifically directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, account details, or other directly identifying information from children through an App account.

However, third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, and technical services may process device-related information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of QR codes and external links.

If you believe a child has directly provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and address the request.
