What is ScanMe Online?
ScanMe Online is a free QR code and barcode toolkit from Androrangers Technologies LLC, run entirely in the browser. It makes QR codes for 28 kinds of content, styles them with your own colors, logos and frames, draws 20 barcode formats, and scans codes from your camera or from an image file. A free account adds the parts that need a server: dynamic QR codes you can repoint after printing, the scan statistics behind them, and Smart IDs — a digital business card, pet ID or vehicle ID.
Is ScanMe Online free to use?
Yes. Creating, customizing and downloading QR codes and barcodes is free, with no watermark and no sign-up required, and the online scanner is free as well. A free account adds 3 dynamic QR codes, 1,500 tracked scans a month and one Smart ID — a digital business card, pet ID or vehicle ID. Paid plans start at $6.99 a month: Pro raises that to 50 dynamic codes and 3 Smart IDs, and Business to 300 and 10, with bigger scan allowances on both. You can try Pro for 14 days without entering a card, and you only ever enter payment details when you deliberately buy something.
Do I need to create an account?
No, not for most features. QR code generation, customization, downloads, barcode generation and scanning all work without an account. You only need to sign in for dynamic QR codes, whose destination you can change after printing, because those are stored with your workspace so you can edit them and see their scan statistics later.
Do I need to install anything?
No. ScanMe Online runs entirely in your web browser; there is nothing to download or install. If you want scanning and code creation on your phone with offline support, the companion ScanMe Android app is available on Google Play, but the website never requires it.
Can I use ScanMe Online on a phone, tablet or desktop?
Yes, all of them. The site is responsive and works on phones, tablets, laptops and desktops. The generator and customization tools adapt to smaller screens, and the scanner can use your device camera on mobile or your webcam on a laptop. Your generation history is saved in whichever browser you use.
Which browsers does ScanMe Online support?
ScanMe Online works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on both desktop and mobile. The generator uses standard browser canvas features, and the scanner uses the standard camera API, so any up-to-date mainstream browser works. Camera scanning requires a browser context that allows camera access, which all modern browsers provide on secure (https) pages.
Can I create both QR codes and barcodes?
Yes. The QR generator creates QR codes for 28 content types with full visual customization, and the separate barcode generator produces 20 one-dimensional barcode formats such as Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A and Code 39. Both are free and download in the same image formats.
How is ScanMe Online different from the ScanMe Android app?
ScanMe Online is the browser version: it focuses on creating and customizing QR codes and barcodes, plus in-browser scanning. The ScanMe – QR Code Scanner Android app is built for scanning on the go: it works offline, adds batch and automatic scanning modes, and generates codes from templates including 2D industrial formats like Data Matrix. They are companions: codes made on either one are standard and scannable everywhere.

What is the ScanMe Android app?
ScanMe – QR Code Scanner is our Android app for scanning and creating codes on your phone. It scans QR codes, retail barcodes and industrial 1D/2D formats even offline, offers single, batch and automatic scanning modes, generates codes from a template gallery, and keeps a scan history with flexible settings (beep, vibration, auto-open links). It has over 500K downloads on Google Play.
Do I need the Android app to use ScanMe Online?
No. The website is fully independent: creating, customizing, downloading and scanning all work in your browser without the app. The app is worth installing if you scan frequently on Android and want offline scanning, batch modes and extra 2D format support on your phone.
Where can I download the ScanMe app? Is there an iOS version?
The Android app is on Google Play. Search for "ScanMe – QR Code Scanner" by Androrangers, or use the download page on this site for the direct link. An iOS version is not available yet ("coming soon"); iPhone users can use ScanMe Online in Safari, which covers generating, customizing and scanning in the browser.
Can codes created on the website be scanned by the app, and vice versa?
Yes, in both directions. Codes generated by ScanMe Online and by the app are standard QR codes and barcodes, so each scans the other’s output, and so does every other standards-compliant scanner, including built-in phone cameras. There is no lock-in in either direction.
